Things Making Me Smile: Apple Picking!

As soon as September starts (Yes I know its over now) I start thinking about my favorite Fall activities. On the top of my list is apple picking at EpleGaarden! So one of the first weekends in September when my boyfriend came over, I begged and bribed with caramel apples and hayrides suggested we go apple picking.

Lila's favorite part was the goats. Luckily she is still at the age where the animals don't have to be doing anything very exciting for her to enjoy seeing them!

If you are looking for a cheap way to buy apples, this probably isn't it. That bag in my hand cost $14. But you also get to eat as much as you want while you pick, and the apples were delicious!

Unfortunately we missed the hayrides and we were too early in the season for good pumpkins, but we got couple cute little ones, and we all had fun! What are your favorite fall activities?

The Park Again!

I know there is a limited amount of time before the cold weather (and dark evenings) sets in, so I have been trying to squeeze as much time at the park as possible!

This time at James Madison Park, there were more than just ducks... we also got feed some seagulls and Canadian Geese!

Of all the birds, the geese were definitely my favorite. They seems more intelligent than the others, and they had the coolest "honk" that was soft and low-pitched. I Also, I forgot how incredibly annoying seagulls are. Definitely the rudest bird out there!

A Visit from Cari! (Part 2)

After our visit to Crema Cafe, Cari, Lila, and I went to Olbrich Gardens. This is a beautiful garden in Madison that has an indoor dome-like greenhouse, and a beautiful outdoor garden.

I love spending quality time with people I love at this park! I've been coming here since I was a kid, and I remember walking around here when I was pregnant with Lila, thinking about potential flower-related names for her!

By the way- isn't Cari's outfit the cutest!?

Taking photos outdoors is one of my favorite things to do, especially when Lila is running around and I can get some candids of her too.

The wonderful thing about this garden is that every few weeks it looks different. Things change so much and it is so well designed that there is always something different to enjoy.

And the best part was the big open grassy space for Lila and Cari to roll around!

I opted out of walking through the grass because I didn't want to get my shoes wet, and I got the opportunity to get these awesome shots!

We had a great time! I am so happy I have these photos to remember such a special visit.

A visit from Cari!

Last month we were lucky enough to get a visit from my cousin, Cari. She is currently living in Boston for PA school but was home for the summer, and we got to have her for a day!

We started the day off with a fantastic brunch at one of my favorite restaurants in Madison.

Besides the awesome coffee and excellent food, the restaurant is very kid friendly!!

 

I got the fungus scramble. It comes with a side of whole grain toast and baby greens! How refreshing is that?

Lila is currently a big fan of bacon. I blame it on the fact that I was vegan for six months of my pregnancy ;)

And I just love how they gave her such a beautiful assortment of fresh fruit!

Can I also mention how sweet Cari is? She took her contacts out and put her glasses on because Lila was throwing a mini fit about wearing her glasses. But Seeing Cari in glasses was enough to convince her that they were cool!

Lila loves Cari! This makes me especially happy because I chose Cari to be Lila's Godmother.
