Unique Valentine's Gifts (for Him)

Happy Tuesday and Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow! I was scrolling through Pinterest looking for inspiration on what I should post for today's blog post, knowing I wanted it to be Valentine's themed some how. I came across some fun gift ideas and I though a roundup of gift ideas for men would be a fun post! These definitely don't have to be strictly for men, or strictly for Valentine's Day, but these are some unusual ideas that would definitely make for a fun (and humorous) gift!

Yep. This Intimate Art Kit  is apparently created whilst you and your partner are "knocking boots".  I'm not sure of the logistics, and I'm not sure how messy it would be, but the results definitely look beautiful! The next question is where would you display it, and what would you tell your guests when they asked about it?

If sex-art is a little to racy for you, why not make a Bacon Bouquet for your sweetheart? He can get you the real roses, and you can surprise him with these.

There's nothing like a naughty pun to get your message across on Valentine's Day. You can buy this Jalapeno Pants Card or you could make your own!

And if you are more traditional, cheesy, and creative (me) this Stone terrarium might be the perfect idea for you. You could get really creative with this and write memories, or reasons why you love him on each stone, and place them in a terrarium or any pretty container. You could also put them in a vase (for you bacon bouquet?).

What kind of gifts do you like to give on Valentine's Day?

Weekend Favorites

Hi friends! In today's post I am  sharing  a few things I have fallen in love with lately! My favorite places to browse the internet  (when I'm not shopping for makeup) are Etsy, Pinterest, and my favorite blogs. Where do you spend your time browsing?

How lovely are these Half Moon Brass Earrings? I love the simple design paired with the natural texture and slight imperfections.

I adore these Vintage Cactus Salt & Pepper Shakers! My salt shaker recently broke so I am in need of a new set. Plus I love anything cute and vintage!
These Brass Pineapple Bookends are so beautiful! I  dream of a wall-to-wall bookcase full of books and beautiful bookends like these! #dreamhouse

I already made Lila a shirt that says "Big Sister" but how cute would she look in this Big Sister Shirt?? It looks nice a light for the spring & summer too!

How precious are these Superhero Rag Dolls? If I got these for Lila, I would have to keep them on their own special shelf when she wasn't playing with them, they are literally handmade works of art!

My goal this month is to try these DIY Maternity Jeans!!!

Another simple DIY I want to try, this DIY Easy Choker T-Shirt could give pizzazz to an old boring  t-shirt, or in my case maternity shirts!

I am absolutely obsessed with the Busbee Style Style Reboot Series. Erin Busbee is a fashion blogger and YouTuber who has amazing style advice for all ages, but particularly adult women. She just started this weekly series and I have already learned so much!!! Her videos include: Challenges, Style Journey, Styling Basics, Dressing Your Age, Tricks to Make You Look Skinnier, and Identifying Your Style. I think I'm going to write a post in the future about identifying my own personal style!

I'd love to hear what you guys have been loving this week! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and I'd like to leave you with this quote:

My Bridal Shower

Hi guys! Since my wedding is now over, I figured before I got those pictures back I should share these ones from my bridal shower! My shower was in the beginning of August, and my Mom was kind enough to host it at her house, along with the help of my Matron of Honor!
I am just in love with the color scheme. I originally wanted my wedding colors to be light pink and gold, but that changed as time went on, so I was delighted to be able to enjoy these colors for my shower! Literally everything you see was a DIY project by my MOH Heather!
This game was guessing the number of corks, and whoever got it right won a bottle of wine!
The food was so good! My Mom was sweet enough to plan an all vegan menu for me, and she chose to go with a Mediterranean theme. She made a tabouli salad and a cucumber salad, and we also had falafel, pita bread and hummus! I'm getting hungry just looking at these pictures!
My Mom also ordered vegan cupcakes!!!
This banner was up in my apartment for awhile after this party!
Heather made me a giant "S" where everyone signed their names, and gave out nail polish in our wedding colors as favors!

Here she had everyone put on lipstick and kiss the paper, so I now have a framed picture of all my loved ones' kisses!
I still feel so lucky to have people who love me enough to throw such a wonderful party! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed!

Handmade Save-the-Dates!

When we first got engaged (its been over a year now!) I had this crazy idea that I wanted to do everything for the wedding myself. Lots and lots of DIY projects. Well, as things progressed I realized that not only would that be an insane amount of work/pressure/decision making, but a lot of DIY projects turn out to be as expensive if not more expensive than simply hiring someone to do it for you.

However after doing a lot of research and because I am a card maker myself, I decided to tackle the project of our save-the-dates. I figured this would be a good test to see how it went and if I wanted to continue on the DIY path or not. The main thing that motivated me was the fact that we would save about $400 if I made them myself! Plus I was able to pick and choose all the little details, which is exactly what I love doing!

So I have finally gotten around to sharing my save the dates with you guys! I made these and sent them out months ago, and I finally made myself take some pictures so that I can share them on the blog! I was pretty proud of making theseSo I though I would share exactly how I made them!

I knew I wanted to incorporate at least one picture, preferably more. I really wanted one picture of me and Mike, and at least one picture with Lila in it as well. So I went through our engagement photos and picked out my favorites.
I used one of my favorite photo-decorating apps, A Beautiful Mess, to add the words "Save the Date" to the photo above.
I also used the same app to create the image you see below, so that I could cut out the pictures and use one per card.
Then I used another app which I have recently discovered, called Free Prints, to order all of the printed photos. Free Prints gives you 86 free prints per month, but you have to pay $10 for shipping, which still isn't bad for 86 photos. Its also great because you can order them right on your phone, using photos on your phone or on your social media, and they get delivered right to your door!
I had this stamp custom made for me by theRUBBERpress on Etsy. They were great at working with me to get the exact wording that I wanted on the stamp! I definitely recommend that shop!!!
I want to do some sort of diy project with this stamp now that I am done with it... any ideas? I was thinking maybe a Christmas ornament?
Luckily I had a bunch of envelopes in the exact right size in my stash, so we even saved money on those! I am so glad I took on this adventure, it was totally worth it! But in case you are wondering, we did decide to order our formal invitations from a local stationer! However I am going to be saving some money by assembling them myself, and you better believe I will be sharing them on the blog!!
Do you prefer to DIY big projects, or hire someone else to do it for you?

Mother's Day Card!

Hi guys! I just wanted to share this card that I made my Mom for Mother's Day! Lila made her one too, with the leftover flower petals, but I forgot to take a picture of it!
All I knew was that I wanted to make a hug flower shaped card that opened up - so I just improvised!
I'll be sharing more pictures from our Mother's Day soon!
Did you do any fun DIYs for Mother's Day?
