A Beautiful Mess App

I am a relative newbie to the "app" culture. I have a smartphone, but I only used it to check my bank account, listen to my amazon cloud player (not anymore!), and occasionally surf Pinterest. But I didn't even use the Pinterest app. I typed it into my teeny little browser url bar. That's how clueless I was.

Until...
I got an iPod for Christmas! My darling boyfriend knows how much I love my music, so he bought me a fancy iPod touch. I absolutely love it! After I figured out how to download all my music from cloud player onto it, I immediately started exploring apps. Then I remembered recently reading that the girls over on A Beautiful Mess recently released a new app!

Here are a bunch of pictures I have taken/edited/created with this awesome app!
(Sorry that some of them are blurry - I am still getting used to the functions of my iPod camera!

I had the perfect opportunity to take tons of pictures (and play with them!) while visiting family over the holidays. Like this one of my goofy cousin:
and my darling dancer:
and some randoms...

More memos from our trip!
There's a funny story behind this one...

On the drive home...
Daisy, my parent's cat...

My cousin's son...
and there you have it! What do you think? Do you have any favorite photography apps?

Making Me Smile: My Busy December

Hi everyone!
I was so disappointed with my (lack of) blogging last month. I did come to realize that November and December are probably going to be the busiest months of my life from now on. Hopefully I will be more prepared in the years to come!
First of all, I had Lila's birthday party the week before Thanksgiving:
It was really just a small gathering of mostly adults who celebrated and gave Lila tons of attention! And of course I forgot to take any pictures of the actual party.
The day after Lila's birthday Mike and I took her to get her hair cut. I think this will be a new yearly tradition!

Then we spent Thanksgiving with Mike and my parents, which was very nice.
The next weekend I had a craft fair to go to, which I was busy up until the last second getting ready for. And I also forgot to take pictures of the final result.
We also managed to squeeze in a cookie making night with my besties!
We also celebrated Mike's birthday a couple weeks before Christmas!
For Christmas we did a lot of driving. Or rather, Mike did a lot of driving. He is such a saint to us! We did four hours of driving on Christmas eve, another 3.5 on Christmas day, and 7 hours the following weekend!
Was your December busy too? How do cope with an unexpectedly busy month?

Things Making Me Smile - Out and About

These were probably over a month ago, but I just love sharing nature photos here on the blog, and I haven't been getting outside a lot lately so I don't have any new ones. So here are some old ones that you haven't seen yet! This day we went to the zoo, but spent more time in the gardens around the zoo than looking at actual animals.
Lila was enthralled with the chestnuts. She loved collecting them.
I spotted this sweet crane (I think?) and tried to get as close as I could!
And of course some geese!
I had to have Lila model this adorable headband that we got from Trenzhadas. Its based off of Sully from Monster's Inc!
Hope you have a great day!
