Let's talk about the new ColourPop loose powder highlighters called Luster Dusts! These are described as finely-milled powders packed with high shine glitters and pearls, for a blinding highlight that blends like a dream. They currently have three shades available on the website and they retail for $7 each. The color of the lids is different from the ones I have here, and I believe they change the packaging seasonally.
(from top to bottom, and left to right below)
Dew Drop (best for medium to deep skin tones) - rich bronze with gold and silver glitter
Gnomie (best for fair skin tones) - soft champagne with silver glitter
Aura Voir (most universal) - golden peach with gold glitter
I personally love these highlighters. A lot of the reviews online complain that they are chunky or have too much glitter to be a face highlight, and I think that is a matter of personal preference. These were designed to be powder highlighters with glitter and pearls, so there is some fine glitter that shows up on your face when you wear these. If you don't like any glitter in your highlighters, you might prefer the ColourPop super shock highlighters. I personally enjoy these with certain looks. The shade Aura Voir (pronounced like Au Revoir) is my favorite!
Tips:
Use a tapered fluffy brush like this one to dust over the highest points of your cheekbones. To create a cohesive look you can also apply this on the inner corners of the eyes and brow bone.
If you really want to make your highlight pop, try spraying your brush with setting spray (or water) after you dip it into the highlighter!
